JSPL chooses GE Power Conversion to triple output
Jindal Steel & Power Limited (JSPL) selected GE Power Conversion’s AC motors and drives to upgrade the steckel mill at its Raigarh Steel Plant, Chhattisgarh, India. The upgrade will boost production at the facility in line with JSPL’s plans to more than triple the steel-making capacity at its Raigarh plant from 3Mt per annum (MPTA) to 10MPTA by 2020.
Fives Stein to supply reheating furnace to JSPL
Fives Stein, a designer and supplier of thermal solutions for steel and glass applications, was awarded a major contract for Indian group Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL), one of the largest steel makers in the world, for a walking beam furnace for the Raigarh works of JSPL. JSPL receives order from Power Grid
Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL) said it has received an order from Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) for supply of 80,000tns of steel. The PGCIL will use this steel in setting up two transmission towers in Southern India.
JSPL mining iron ore mining in Bolivia
Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL) has begun mining at El Mutun iron mine in Bolivia and will export iron ore, a key input in producing steel, to neighbouring countries such as Paraguay and Argentina besides China starting October 2009.
