JERA Co., Inc. (JERA), through its wholly owned subsidiary JERA Americas Inc. (JERA Americas), has entered into an agreement with Starwood Energy Group to acquire a 50% equity interest in three natural gas-fired thermal power generation plants (the “Compass Portfolioâ€?) in the northeastern United States.

JERA Co., Inc has recently declared that it has submitted to the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry a new Electricity Supply Plan for fiscal year 2016 that adds the development of approximately 5,590MW of thermal power generation capacity ("the Plan").
