Tata Steel to modernize off-gas cleaning system
Siemens Metals Technologies has received an order from Tata Steel, the Indian steel producer, to modernize the secondary emission system in LD2 shop in Jamshedpur. The aim is to reduce emissions – both in the plant itself and in the exhaust air – to reduce to a level as per the regulatory norms.
Ceremony for Tata CAPL project
Tata Steel conducted the groundbreaking ceremony for the 600,000tns/yr continuous annealing and processing line (CAPL) project, at the Tata Steel works. This is part of the joint venture agreement to set up India’s first CAPL for the production of automotive cold-rolled steels at Jamshedpur signed between Tata Steel Limited and Nippon Steel Corporation in January 2011.
