Saudi Arabia: pipeline projects

Corrtech International, based at Ahmedabad in the Gujarat State of India, has entered into a joint venture with Arabian Port Co. of Saudi Arabia for pipeline projects that will garner business of about INR 4000 crores over a period of five years.

SS plant plans dropped

Indian SS makers increase capacity

Within 5 years India plans to add about 4.6 million tonnes per year of stainless steel capacity, which could make it the world’s second largest stainless producer after China. India currently produces about 2 million tonnes per year of stainless steel, more than a third of which is exported as the domestic market is yet to be developed.

Stainless consumption in India to increase

Gujarat-based Jain Group’s Sona Alloys, which pioneered ship breaking, will be setting up a Greenfield integrated steel plant at Lonand in Maharashtra with an investment of INR 350 crore.

Possible cold rolling mill

Acerinox has concluded a study on a project to build a plant, probably a cold rolling mill, in India, in a joint venture with its Japanese partner Nisshin Steel.
