STEAG and thyssenkrupp work on a joint hydrogen project
STEAG, thyssenkrupp Steel and thyssenkrupp Uhde Chlorine Engineers are working on a joint feasibility study. The study deals with the construction of a water electrolysis plant at the STEAG site in Duisburg-Walsum by thyssenkrupp Uhde Chlorine Engineers, the structuring of energy supply and operation of the electrolysis plant by STEAG and the supply of green hydrogen and oxygen to thyssenkrupp Steel's steel mill in the neighboring Duisburg district of Bruckhausen.
thyssenkrupp expands production for electrolysis plants
thyssenkrupp has now significantly expanded its production capacities for electrolysis plants for the production of green hydrogen: From now on, the company can produce electrolysis cells with a total output of up to one gigawatt annually, together with its strategic supplier and joint venture partner De Nora.
