ABB, has launched ArcSave, the next generation electric arc furnace electromagnetic stirrer (EAF-EMS) that reduces carry over slag and shortens tap-to-tap time, strengthens slag-melt homogenization, increases yield and contributes to safer operations.
The ArcSave’s powerful electromagnetic stirring enhances the large scrap melting and makes stratification less significant due to forced convection.

United States Steel Corporation (U.S. Steel) made a strategic investment to build an electric arc furnace (EAF) at its Fairfield Works outside of Birmingham, Alabama. Fairfield Works comprises both steelmaking and finishing facilities for both the flat-rolled and tubular markets.
