On 27 July 2009, the signing ceremony of the Framework Agreement on Cooperative Development of the Chenzhou Nuclear Power Station between China National Nuclear Corp. (CNNC) (Beijing) and the Municipal Government of Chenzhou was held in Beijing. LI Jinying, Director of the Planning Department of CNNC and XIANG Lili, Mayor of Chenzhou City signed the Agreement on behalf of both parties.

China National Nuclear Corp. (CNNC), the operator of the country's three commercial nuclear power plants, is poised to start construction of the first phase of a 20 billion yuan nuclear power plant in Sanmen in the eastern province of Zhejiang.
