Shell signs agreements for CCS project

Shell has signed agreements with the Governments of Alberta and Canada to secure USD 865 million in funding for its Quest Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) Project in Canada. The Quest Project will capture and permanently store deep underground more than one million tonnes of CO2 per year

GE membranes in Canada ‘s biggest MBR plant

The upgraded wastewater treatment plant in Manitoba, Canada will feature a 36,000 m³/d expanded membrane bioreactor and GE ZeeWeed membranes. The facility will be the largest MBR plant in Canada, and is scheduled to enter into service in 2012.

REpower signs wind project contracts

REpower Systems AG has signed two contracts for Canadian wind projects. As per the contract, the company will cover the delivery, installation and maintenance of 55 REpower MM92 CCV turbines specifically designed for cold climates. 40 turbines will go to the Saint-Robert-Bellarmin wind farm located between the cities of Lac-Mégantic and Saint-Georges-de-Beauce in Quebec. The remaining 15 turbines are to be installed at the Ganaraska and Whispering Woods wind farms in Oshawa, Ontario.

WISCO developing in Canada and Cameroon

WISCO has signed an agreement with Canadian miner, Adriana Resources Inc. to jointly develop the LacOtelnuk iron ore program in Quebec, Canada. The mine has a total reserve of 6 billion mt of magnetic concentrate with 30% iron content.
