BS Stainless, an independent stainless steel supplier developed its innovative ECOseal in 2015, an improved fixing solution for stainless steel banding developed by re-designing traditional wing seals.

Representatives from BS Stainless will attend SPE Offshore in Aberdeen in September 2015 to discuss its range of stainless steel products, designed to facilitate complex and delicate offshore work, required in the oil & gas industries.

Corrosion is an ever-present threat to many metal structures, particularly those located in marine environments such as offshore oil and gas facilities. Grade 316 stainless steel screws are widely used in the construction of such facilities and is being superseded by tougher, longer-lasting duplex self tapping screws.

Metal jacketing is essential to ensure that both temperature and acoustical barrier expectations are met, particularly within the oil & gas industry. The environmental impact of such protection can be high but BS Stainless have developed Soundmet® with this fact in mind; a metal jacketing solution is designed to impact minimally on the environment, making it one of the greenest available solutions for a wide range of applications.

BS Stainless are currently finalising the details of a new jacketing system, which is the result of a powerful two-year project focused on sound reduction, in collaboration with Sheffield Hallam University.SoundMet is a BS Stainless trademark and had been designed with three main principles in mind – effective damping of sound and vibration, a reduction in person-hours, thus labour costs and the prevention of corrosion under insulation (CUI).
