Iren S.p.A., through its subsidiary Iren Energia S.p.A., signed a contract with Ansaldo Energia for the new combined gas cycle realization, with an investment of approximately €180 M, which will increase installed capacity at the Turbigo site, which is all natural gas-fed, from the current 850 MW to around 1,280 MW.

SNC-Lavalin and its partner Ansaldo Energia, recieved a USD 333 million contract from the Societe Tunisienne de l’Electricite et de Gaz (STEG) to design and build a 420MW combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant in Sousse, Tunisia.

International Power plc (London) has announced a joint venture partnership agreement with Ansaldo Energia (Italy) to develop up to 4000mw of new generation in five different greenfield sites in southern Italy with each of the five sites consisting of 800mw power units utilising Combined-Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) technology.
