Subsea 7 wins Shetland contract

Subsea contractor, Subsea 7 has been awarded a contract from BP for its 2005 subsea requirements West of Shetlands. The contact is valued at more than USD 20 million. Subsea 7 is the single contractor responsible for the underwater construction, inspection, repair and maintenance operations for BP’s Schiehallion, Loyal and Foinaven fields which are located 150 km west of the Shetland Islands in water depths ranging from 400 to 500 metres. The contract will commence immediately and will utilise the multi-purpose support vessel Subsea Viking operating for BP between April and September 2005, with the potential for further work and an option for a similar arrangement in 2006.
