Stock Services, a UK supplier of stainless steel seamless butt weld fittings exhibiting at Stainless Steel World Exhibition in Maastricht for the first time, were faced with a challenge of how to exploit the opportunities and maximise its impact on existing and potential customers.
Peter Comerford, Sales & Marketing Director at Stock Services, said: “As a company that applies high tech solutions on traditional stockholding problems, we decided to combine serious presentations about the company’s stainless steel stock range and computer systems, with a light hearted competition “Spot the Cricket Ball”.
Cricket is a quintessential English game, and we had a lot of fun explaining the game and the use of the prize “a cricket bat” to those bemused by it.
The prize for guessing the correct position of the ball was a cricket bat signed by the legendary English Cricket Team Captain Michael Vaughan.
The winner was Arnold Pol of Arcus Netherlands, and on receiving the prize, he was quoted as saying, “I will not be taking up the game, but the bat will take pride of place in my home”.
Stainless Steel World was a great success for Stock Services. Our objectives of meeting our current and hopefully future clients were fully realised, and our first venture into an international exhibition was extremely successful.”
