STEEL24-7 launched

STEEL24-7 has announced the launch of its e-business platform www.steel24-7.com. STEEL24-7 is the first European e-business initiative fully supported by the industry’s major players. A joint venture of Arbed/Aceralia, Corus, ThyssenKrupp Steel and Usinor, it offers its members the possibility to build and support commercial relationships through the Internet, linking steel buyers and suppliers. The founders’ combined annual output of over 80 million tonnes of crude steel makes STEEL24-7 the most credible steel marketplace in the world. STEEL24-7 aims to set the standard for e-business in the steel industry. With this goal in mind, the STEEL24-7 platform is open to other players in the steel industry. The roll-out of the activities of STEEL24-7 will take place in a phased approach. The first phase has started with the introduction of a limited number of Pilot Customers to the platform. They will be able to experience the benefits from doing business with their suppliers over STEEL24-7 in close partnership with these suppliers.
