Steel Dynamics invests in fibre laser technology

Steel Dynamics have ordered the latest technology in Laser cutting – a Bystronic ByFibre 30-15 6Kw complete with extended tower loading facility. This purchase is expected to put Steel Dynamics at the forefront of laser technology. The fibre laser is the first machine of this size and power in the UK. It can cut 30%–40% quicker than a typical CO2 laser and the extended tower function processes laser cut parts quickly and more efficiently. The fibre laser is expected to be installed and operational by the beginning of September.
