STATS expands in Malaysia with pipeline isolation contract

STATS Group, in partnership with EPOMS Sdn Bhd, has secured a three-year contract (plus a one-year extension option) to deliver pipeline isolation services for a major oil and gas operator in Malaysia. The contract covers both onshore and offshore assets across Peninsular Malaysia, Sarawak, and Sabah.

To support the growing regional demand, STATS is expanding its footprint in the country with a move to a larger facility in Kuala Lumpur. The company is also increasing its investment in tooling and workforce, including expanding its inventory of Remote Tecno Plug, Sure Tap hot tapping, and BISEP line stop tools.

STATS is actively recruiting Malaysian nationals and plans to nearly double its local workforce, who will benefit from the company’s award-winning training programs.

Under the contract, STATS will provide its Remote Tecno Plug technology in pipe diameters ranging from 6 to 42 inches, along with specialized technicians. EPOMS will contribute pumping, scaffolding, non-destructive testing, and industrial support services.

This award follows a strategic collaboration agreement signed between STATS and EPOMS in 2023 to jointly pursue pipeline isolation and hot-tapping projects across Malaysia.

STATS’ DNV-type approved Tecno Plug and BISEP tools offer double block and bleed isolation for pressurized systems, improving operational safety and reducing downtime during repairs.
