Stainless thick slab forged

Baosteel Co. Ltd Special Steel Business Unit has successfully forged Level 2 austenitic stainless thick slab for nuclear power utilization so as to strongly develop the stainless thick plate for nuclear power utilization in China. The forging factory has never manufactured 250mm-300mm ultra-thin and 1250mm-1600mm ultra-wide stainless slab. Besides, the subsequent grinding and rolling strictly limit the size and weight of the slab. It is quite difficult to forge. Therefore, a direct and fast forging branch of the forging plant of the Speical Steel Business Unit together with Manufacturing Department technicians, have made plenty of preparations by working out several production proposals and tracing during the whole process and have adopted measures as controlling deformation, optimizing deformation fire absorption, etc to guarantee the surface quality after forging so that 24 stainless thick slabs of 380tns in storage were successfully forged.
