As the exhibition has grown over the past two decades the stands have expanded, the floorplan increased, and the conference format evolved. In a constantly developing industry the team behind Stainless Steel World strives to change with our partners and provide an up-to-date platform for meeting, exchanging knowledge and doing business.
The feedback on the 2017 event was overwhelmingly positive. Conference speakers and delegates enjoyed lively discussions and good interaction between end users and manufacturers. Conference Chairman Roy Grichuk from Fluor, USA opened with an upbeat speech on Tuesday morning before handing the microphone over to plenary speakers William Zahner from A. Zahner Co. and Catherine Houska, TMR Consulting.
Conference highlights included the interactive sessions on duplex, a lively workshop of 3D printing & powder metallurgy, and an eye-opening plenary on keeping stainless steel safe in oil and gas production facilities. This year a special Plenary Discussion was also held which was open to both delegates and exhibitors. The topic of ‘Availability is a key material property’ provoked many questions both from the panel and audience and an open exchange of knowledge and experience. The format was a great success and the attendees continued their discussions outside the conference rooms afterwards.
The high number of end users at the event was a welcome sight for the exhibitors and was also appreciated by delegates who appreciated the opportunity to exchange ideas and practical experience.
“The best Stainless Steel World we’ve ever had!” Jonas Pihl, Managing Director of Harald Pihl
