The world stainless association has released figures for the first nine months of 2022 showing that stainless steel melt shop production decreased by 5.1% year–on–year to 41.9 million metric tons.
In Europe and the US, production decreased by 11.2%, and 13.2% respectively. China registered a decreased production of 5.2%. Other Asian countries and other parts of the world combined registered a decrease of 0.4% and 1.0% in steel production.
