The world stainless association has released figures for the full year of 2023 showing that stainless steel melt shop production increased by 4.6% year–on–year to 58.4 million metric tons
In Europe and the US, production decreased by 6.2%, and 9.6% respectively. China registered a growth of 12.6%. Other Asian countries and other parts of the world combined registered a decrease of 7.2% and 5.2% in steel production.
