The International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF) has released figures for the full year 2019 showing that stainless steel melt shop production increased by 2.9% year–on–year to 52.2 million metric tons.
In Europe and the US, production decreased by 7.9%, and 7.6% respectively. China registered a growth of 10.1%. Other Asian countries and other parts of the world combined registered a decrease of 3.7% and 2.0% in steel production.
