The International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF) has released figures for the full year 2018 showing that stainless steel melt shop production increased by 5.5% year-on-year to 50.7 million metric tons.
In Europe and the US, the production increased by 0.1%, and 2% respectively. China and other Asian countries registered 3.6% and 2.1% growth. The other parts of the world combined registered a 35.9% increase in steel production.
