Stainless Steel production 42.6 MMT in 2023

The World Stainless Association has released figures for the first nine months of 2023 showing that stainless steel melt shop production increased by 2.5% year–on–year to 42.6 million metric tons.

In Europe and the US, production decreased by 8.0%, and 12.9% respectively. China registered a growth of 13.4%. Other Asian countries and other parts of the world combined registered a decrease of 12.4% and 13.2% in steel production.
