The International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF) has released figures for the first three months of 2020 showing that stainless steel melt shop production decreased by 8.0% year–on–year to 11.7 million metric tons.
In Europe, the US and China, production decreased by 6.3%, 10.9%, and 9% respectively. Other Asian countries and other parts of the world combined registered a decrease of 3.8% and 9.7% in steel production.
