Stainless steel for hygiene

The International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF) has republished its document on Stainless Steel for Hygiene. The publication explains why stainless steel is corrosion-resistant and why it is so hygienic. Applications made from stainless steels can therefore be safely used in both home and professional cooking, food processing, in public life like for waste disposal or sanitary equipment, in health care and in infrastructure.
Making available to everybody a high level of hygiene in people’s personal environment, food preparation, medical services and public infrastructure has been a big achievement. Stainless steels have played a significant role in this process. The bright and shiny surfaces make it obvious that stainless steel is a material for a healthier life.
