Stainless Foundry expands scope of materials approval

Stainless Foundry & Engineering, Inc. (Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA) as of November 2018 has greatly expanded its scope of approval for materials as assessed for the Pressure Equipment Directive (PEDX) 97/23/EC and 2014/68/EU. Stainless Foundry & Engineering, Inc.’s (SF&E); a high alloy sand and investment foundry, has held a PED certifications with TUV-SUD headquartered in Munich, Germany as our registration agency since 1999. Being one of the first foundries or most properly a material organization in North America to achieve a PED status as well as an AD-2000 Merkblatter to service our European customer base.

It currently has over 175 PED materials and specification options in either ISO / werkstoff grades and ASTM/ASME material grades for orders where harmonized materials do not exist or for your Particular Material Appraisal (PMA) requirements. Alloys from Carbon steels, Alloy steels, Stainless Steels (cast 300, 400, precipitation hardening and duplex grades), Nickel based alloys and even a few specialty materials for our customers engineering needs.

Stainless Foundry & Engineering, Inc. was formed in 1946 and has serviced the power generation, food and dairy, petro-chemical, military, naval, pump and valve as well the transportation industries.
