Stainless Bombardier for metro coach

Bombardier and JSL Ltd are in talks about sourcing high quality stainless steel for the metro coach bodies at its factory in Savli, and JSL may supply steel to Bombardier Transportation for metro coach bodies. Currently, Bombardier imports steel from South Africa and Malaysia. Bombardier also expects to receive orders for 100 more metro coaches from Delhi Metro Rail Corp. (DMRC) It has an existing order from DMRC to supply 424 coaches valued at USD 727 million. The first 36 coaches of the lot will be imported from Bombardier’s factory in Goerlitz and the rest of the coaches will be rolled out from the Vadodara factory. Of the total 424 cars, 380 coaches will be delivered before the Commonwealth Games and the rest 84 coaches will be operational before mid-2011.
