A new pre-formed gasket from Garlock Sealing Technologies is designed to provide compatibility for all commonly used bio-pharmaceutical and food sector process chemicals. Gylon Bio-Pro Gaskets, available for all sizes of tri-clamp fittings, are dimensionally stable withstanding temperatures up to 260C without deformation. Different rates of thermal expansion between stainless steel and conventional gasket materials, particularly when steam sterilising process pipework, demands tri-clamps are re-tightened on a regular basis. Gylon Bio-Pro Gaskets are dimensionally stable and pre-stressed – controlled compression during manufacture ensures that the gasket will not intrude into the pipe boreline.
