SS submersible borehole pumps

KSB Aktiengesellschaft, Frankenthal, Germany, has launched a submersible borehole pump series onto the market. The UPA 100 C series is designed to be used in water supply, irrigation, lowering of ground water levels, pressure boosting and fire protection. The maximum discharge head is 400 metres and the maximum flow rate 15,000 litres per hour. The temperature of the fluid pumped can be up to 30 °C. All components are made of stainless steel. The pump units are of robust design and capable of handling water with a solids content of 50 grams per cubic metre. The minimum thickness of the stainless steel walls is 1 mm. An integrated, hydraulically optimised anti-blockage design check valve prevents the discharge pipe from emptying when the pump unit is switched off. This ensures that the pump is not damaged as a result of reverse rotation. The canned motors are available in single-phase AC (0.37 – 2.2KW) and three-phase (0.37 -7.5KW) design. Generously dimensioned intermediate bearings at each pump stage prevent potential shaft misalignment. Their design allows optimum lubrication of the bearing faces.
