SS production was 48.1 MMT in 2017

The International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF) has released figures for the full year 2017 showing that stainless steel melt shop production increased by 5.8% year-on-year to 48.1 million metric tons.

In Europe and the US, the production increased by 1.3%, and 11% respectively. However, China, and other Asian countries registered 4.7% and 4.5% growth. The rest of the world combined registered 22% increase in the steel production. This symbolizes a positive year ahead in 2018.
