Katronic Technologies has introduced the latest addition to its ultrasonic flowmeter family. The new instrument is intended as a partner to the existing KF160 flowmeter for use in hazardous and corrosive atmospheres. The new device, as yet unnamed, is manufactured entirely from stainless steel and is therefore far more suitable for harsh environmental conditions than the aluminium enclosures used on the other KATflow instruments. Furthermore, the flow meter is fully ATEX certified for Zone 1 use making it suitable for installation in areas where there is a risk of explosion. The new flowmeter incorporates dual-channel measurement, simple programming, and an optional Doppler measurement mode. The stainless steel transmitter is designed to be either pipe or wall mounted and is programmed using a magnetic pen for ease of use and to avoid compromising the enclosure. As well as having a stainless steel transmitter the measurement system incorporates stainless steel sensors that can be mounted on pipelines from 15mm to 2,500mm in diameter.
