Spence’s cast Y pipeline strainers

Spence Strainers International (Walden, NY, USA) has introduced a range of cast-iron, bronze, carbon-steel, chrome-molly and stainless-steel Y strainers available with threaded (NPT), flanged (flat-faced, raised-faced and RTJ), socket weld, butt-weld and sweat-end connections. They are available in sizes 8mm to 400mm; feature a one-piece cast body, upper and lower machined seats, drain/blow-off connections furnished with plug and stainless-steel (CF8M) screens as standards. Spence strainers are equipped with screens that have open flow areas many times greater than the pipe nominal cross-sectional area. This feature minimises initial pressure drop while maximising time between cleanings. These Y strainers are also manufactured with both upper and lower machined seats, which acts to securely hold the screen in position when in service, thus eliminating debris by-pass.
