Westinghouse Electric Company will supply AIE Centrales Nucleares Almaraz-Trillo in Spain with turbine and reactor control systems, based on OVATION digital technology, for the Almaraz nuclear units 1 & 2. Installation of the systems will occur during refuelling outages in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. The contract is the first one for an instrumentation and control systems modernisation programme for Almaraz and is valued at approximately EUR 7,250,000.
Ovation is a commercial I&C platform of products developed for use in the general process control industry and applicable to various non-safety-related nuclear applications.
