Spain: combined-cycle plant

US investment fund-backed Global 3 Energy is moving ahead with a proposal to build a 400MW gas-fired, combined-cycle plant at Congosto in Spain’s northern Castilla-Leon region. The project has reached the public consultation stage following completion of an environmental impact assessment. Construction is set to cost EUR 143.3million. Global 3 Energy is also developing a 400MW CCGT at La Robla, also in Castilla-Leon, a 285-MW gas-fired, single-cycle power plant at Escatron in the Aragon region, which is to be converted to combined-cycle operation with the addition of a second 277MW unit, and a 285MW
generator at Pinto in the Madrid region.
