South Pars talks in final stages

Oil Minister Bizhan Namdar-Zangeneh has said that the talks on a project for development of the 11th phase of South Pars gas field with foreign bidders are in the final stage. Zangeneh said that his ministry gives the priority to gas in its financial projects. So, those companies willing to sign contracts for development of the phase 11 of South Pars gas field are advised to enter into venture with Iran in the LNG and GTL fields. He added that Eni, TotalFinaElf, Statoil and BP are the companies involved in talks with Iran on development of phase 11 of South Pars gas field. He said the conditions and prices proposed by the companies are too close to one another but the most qualified company is expected to win the bid. Zangeneh said Iran is interested in exporting LNG to India and New Delhi too is keen on development of Iranian oil and gas fields and investment in the LNG sector. He said there are broad discussions under way between Iran and India and once they are complete, the two sides would go into details of the deals for purchase of LNG and development of oilfields.
