Atlantic Pumps have announced the addition of stainless steel parts to their range of materials available for centrifugal slurry pumps. Available in two grades, 304 and 316, the parts fit popular slurry pump brands including Warman and Slurrypro. Stainless steel parts are commonly used in pumps handling especially corrosive applications. Examples include acidic solutions such as battery acids in recycling plants, and aggressive solutions containing lime in the cement industry. The expanding range of materials for slurry pump parts already includes various grades of high-chrome alloys, natural and synthetic rubbers, and Gromatex ®, a unique elastomer compound that is tougher and more resistant to abrasion than traditional rubber.
