Singapore: turnkey contracts

Areva’s Transmission & Distribution (T&D) division has won two gas-insulated turnkey contracts in Singapore worth EUR 15.2 million, with STMicroelectronics and SP PowerAssets Ltd. To satisfy an increasing need in electricity, STMicroelectronics is boosting its electricity grid by building an entirely new 66/22kV 150MVA substation. Areva’s gas-insulated substation will comprise B65-type 66kV gas-insulated switchgear, 75MVA power transformers and 22kV gas-insulated switchboards. The scope of the contract will also include civil works, commissioning, testing and training services. This project will be carried out on a fast track basis and will be finalized in September 2005. Under the second contract, Areva will supply and build B65-type 66kV and 38kV gas-insulated switchgear for one of SP PowerAsset’s transmission substations located in northern Singapore. The project will be executed expeditiously for completion in March 2006.
