Singapore: jack-up work barge

Saudi Aramco has contracted Sembcorp Marine’s Jurong Shipyard in Singapore to build a new jack-up work barge for one its subsidiaries. Jurong has received a letter of award from Saudi Aramco for construction of the new self-elevating heavy lift barge, in a deal worth USD 180 million. The new unit will be capable of carrying out heavy lift operations, subsea pipeline repair and maintenance work, operating in water depths from 5 to 60m. Delivery of the new unit is scheduled from the first quarter of 2010.
