Siemens thermoelectric power

Siemens is negotiating the supply of two gas-powered and one-steam powered turbine to each of two thermoelectric power plants, one in Araraquara in Sao Paulo and one in Vitoria, Espirito Santo, at a total cost of R$260mil. The company is also leading a consortium to finish construction of a coal-powered plant in Rio Grande do Sul. General Electric Power Systems, the power generating division of General Electric, is also active in supplying generators for the Brazilian market, which accounts for 6.5%, or US$1.5bil of its worldwide business. GE is the leader in this sector of the Brazilian market, with 66% of total sales.
