Siemens recently signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Aero Engine Corporation of China (AECC), to jointly launch comprehensive cooperation in the field of digital manufacturing. Lothar Herrmann, CEO Siemens Greater China and Li Fangyong, General Manager of AECC presented at the signing ceremony in Berlin on behalf of the two companies.
According to the agreement, the two parties will further strengthen cooperation to enhance the research and development, manufacturing and testing level of aero engines, as well as promote in-depth cooperation in high-tech fields such as additive manufacturing, composites manufacturing, robotics, and industrial internet of things. On this basis, the two parties will further explore advanced technology including systems engineering based on digital models, virtual simulation, collaborative R&D, shop floor IT system and digital twin. In addition, Siemens will work with AECC to develop a top-level framework for intelligent R&D and smart manufacturing on the level of âIndustrial 4.0â?, construct pilot demonstrations of smart institute and intelligent factory, as well as carry out technological exchanges and training certification.
