Shell Chemicals expansion

Kvaerner has announced that its E&C business area has been awarded an engineering,
procurement and construction management contract for Shell Chemicals in Moerdijk, The Netherlands. The contract, which is worth approximately EUR 4 million to Kvaerner, is for the capacity expansion of an ethylene oxide plant project for Shell Chemicals.
The project, representing an investment by Shell Chemicals of some EUR 25 million, will be completed during the first quarter of 2004. Kvaerner will execute the project on the basis of the recently completed basic engineering package for which it has achieved an almost perfect front-end loading rating. This front-end loading index was achieved through seamless integration of all parties involved, thorough execution of all value improvement practices and focussing on a “once throughâ€? execution of the implementation phase.
