Guangdong Shaoguan Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. awarded to Friedrich KOCKS GmbH & Co KG, Hilden, Germany, for the supply of a RSB® 370++/4 in 5.0 design.
With the decision to implement a KOCKS RSB® 370++/4 in the existing 490.000t/a bar mill line, Shaoguan intends to further expand and strengthen its share in the high demanding SBQ sector for high-quality engineering steels for the automotive industry.
The RSB® 370++/4 will produce straight bars step less in a range between Ø 17 to 80mm with a very close tolerance level and excellent surface onto the cooling bed. The RSB® 5.0 will be located as a finishing unit after the roughing and intermediate mill, consisting of 20 stands in H/V arrangement. Further KOCKS scope of supply is a roll shop for offline stand and guide preparation as well as supervision for erection and commissioning.
The start-up of the new RSB® is scheduled for 2021.
