Shaner Industries introduces one-piece solution

Shaner Industries, a Pittsburgh-based company that specialises in the design, engineering and installation of its patented steel pipe finned foundations, introduced the MastFoundation & Rapid Installation System at Intersolar North America 2013 in San Francisco, CA.

MastFoundation & Rapid Installation System is designed as a one-piece foundation solution that costs less than other types of foundations and requires less time, less materials, less manpower, less equipment and less fabrication. The one-piece MastFoundation includes Shaner Industries’ patented finned foundation at one end of a steel pipe, and a top plate designed to integrate easily with the solar structure at the other end. The MastFoundation’s efficient one-piece design eliminates the foundation to mast connection, allowing for a faster installation process.

Mr Geoffrey Feidelberg, CEO of Shaner Industries, said, “The MastFoundation & Rapid Installation System eliminate the connection between the foundation and mast, which eliminates one full set of expensive hardware [usually necessary to connect the foundation and mast], and drastically reduces the installation time and the amount of materials needed to fabricate the system.”

With Shaner Industries’ MastFoundation & Rapid Installation System, there are only two steps in the installation process: the one-piece MastFoundation is installed and then, the solar structure is mounted to the mast. The MastFoundation is pre-engineered and delivered to the job site ready to install, and does not require any concrete, excavation, spoil removal or dewatering.
