Severstal North America appoints new director

Severstal North America has appointed Sanjeev Badola as the director, Scrap and Metallics Procurement, based in Dearborn, Mich. effective January 1, 2014.

In his new position, Badola will direct the company’s strategy of procuring metallics and scrap metal. He will be reporting to Gerrit Reepmeyer, vice president, Procurement.

“I am honoured to welcome Sanjeev to the Severstal team”, said Reepmeyer. “His profound background and knowledge of international metallics trading will be a tremendous asset for our company.”

Prior to joining Severstal, Badola served as the worldwide trading manager, Raw Materials, for Starglobe, handling a USD 400M portfolio of pig iron, HBI and iron ore trades. Before that, he worked with Carbofer where he developed the pig iron trading business to be among the top three in the world. Badola started his career with Cargill where he held several positions in worldwide trading responsibilities.
