Seaquest Systems to deliver trawlers for Irish owners

A pair of new trawlers for Irish owners to be delivered in 2022 and 2023 will be fitted out with deck equipment systems from Killybegs company Seaquest Systems.

The Sheehy family’s Ocean Crest and Wave Crest for Barrack Point Enterprises are to be built to a 27-meter Vestværft design, with Ocean Crest to be built at the yard in Denmark for completion next year while Wave Crest is to be built at Mooney Boats and delivered in 2023.

The two vessels will have the same package of deck hardware, with a pair of 32-tonne trawl winches managed by a Scantrol autotrawl, plus a pair of 16-tonne net drums.

Further equipment in the identical packages includes a 4-tonne net sounder winch, a 1.5-tonne outhaul winch, a 12-tonne gilson, a 2.5-tonne BV certified anchor winch and two 25-tonne self-hauling rope reels.

Also, part of the packages are 1.5t/9m and 1.5t/8m knuckle-boom cranes, plus 14-inch fish pumps and associated hydraulic and fish hose reels.

According to Seaquest Systems, stainless steel fittings are used where suitable and all crane pins and cylinder rods are all of Duplex stainless steel.
