Schwanner joins BUTTING Group

Schwanner GmbH has become a full member of the BUTTING Group – and 80 employees have joined the BUTTING family. The companies shared vision is to combine their strengths in the field of pipe production and plant construction with the special expertise in vacuum-insulated pipes.

Founded in 1899, Schwanner evolved from a small forge into a globally leading MSE specialising in vacuum technology.

The management team includes the former owner, Johann Schwanner. He is responsible for equipment and enhancement in the field of vacuum technology. Marcel Bartels and Heike Hermann from the BUTTING Group were appointed as directors of Schwanner GmbH. Marcel Bartels will be in charge of overall management in his capacity as CEO and Heike Hermann with commercial management in her role as CFO. Both will also be responsible for integration into the BUTTING Group.

Hermann Butting is looking forward to the cooperation: “This company acquisition opens up many opportunities for us, not only for BUTTING as a pipe supplier, but also for our plant construction throughout the BUTTING Group, as well as our production for customised components. A valuable contribution to our future viability, especially as the whole world is talking about hydrogen as an energy source – and liquid hydrogen flows best through vacuum-insulated pipelines.”
