The SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH Group and its subsidiary Deutsche Edelstahlwerke are presenting their portfolio of high-quality tool steels for the first time at FAKUMA in Friedrichshafen. The special steel producer will showcase the Corroplast FM plastic mould steel, a special steel with excellent machinability and good resistance to corrosion for dimensionally accurate and long-lasting tools and mould bases, e.g., for the PET packaging industry.
In the pursuit of economical series production of plastic parts, the need for dimensionally stable and wear-resistant stainless steel also increases. Corroplast FM from Deutsche Edelstahlwerke is a state-of-the-art special steel solution for plastic moulds used in the packaging industry. With its excellent machinability, the stainless mould steel is suited to the production of precise holder blocks and mould bases for multi-cavity tools requiring extensive machining. Another feature of this tool steel is its resistance to corrosion caused by plastics as well as condensation and coolants.
In addition to Corroplast® FM, Deutsche Edelstahlwerke will also present their extensive offerings of high-quality tool steel products at FAKUMA 2014, including wear-resistant cold work and high speed steels, temperature-resistant hot-work steel as well as Formadur® Superclean series materials which are setting new standards in plastic mould making with their polishability.
