Sandvik’s new stainless steel hollow bar is a combination of hollow bar and Sanmac stainless steel, which allows cutting speeds and feed rates to be increased, while tool wear decreases as a result of the inclusions within the material. Sulphides and oxide inclusions improve chip breaking and reduce tool wear without affecting the material’s corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. Available in a variety of material grades, Sandvik hollow bar comes in a range of sizes from 32mm OD through to 420mm OD. Sandvik offers a cutting service to deliver lengths to best suit operator machine requirements.
