Sandvik launches high-temperature steel tubes

Sandvik introduced its range of high-temperature tubes with its ‘Steel campaign’. Specifically developed for high operating temperatures, Sandvik 4C54 and Sandvik 253 MA tubes for PCI burner lances can significantly outlast conventional materials when used in blast furnaces. They can extend lance lifecycles and reduce maintenance costs by achieving up to three times the average operational life in what is a highly corrosive environment. Composition of the tubes results in high creep strength, very good resistance to isothermal and cyclic oxidation while combining good structural stability at high temperatures.

The Sandvik program covers a range of high temperature corrosion resistant material grades suitable for flue gas temperatures up to 1300˚C for most types of recuperators used for heat recovery in the steel industry and includes Sandvik 253 MA*, Sandvik 353 MA*, Kanthal APMT etc. “Our advanced metallurgy can make a real difference in terms of customers’ productivity and energy costs in steel manufacture and we are excited about sharing details of these real advantages further”, added Burak Edik of Sandvik.

A full representation of Sandvik products will be displayed on the stand at India Steel 2015 including muffle tubes, thermocouples and heating elements.
