Sandmeyer Steel Co., Philadelphia, USA, has participated in honoring the workers and astronauts of the US Space Program by donating their third stainless steel monument to the US Space Walk of Fame Foundation in Titusville, Florida. This monument is over 14ft high and contains almost 1tn of 316L stainless steel. It will be dedicated to the Apollo program, which culminated in seven manned missions to the moon. Dedication ceremonies will be in the summer of 2009. The US Space Walk of Fame Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization of active and retired space workers with a mission of erecting monuments to the different space programs along the Indian River in Titusville, facing the Vehicle Assembly Building and launch pads on Cape Canaveral.
