Saipem in triple contract deal

Italy’s Saipem was awarded three lump sum turnkey offshore construction contracts totalling USD 285m illion, according to a Saipem statement. In the first, ExxonMobil Canada awarded Saipem and its partner Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering a contract for a compression platform offshore Sable island, about 250 km from Nova Scotia, Canada. Installation will occur during the summer of 2006. – BP Exploration Operating Co. also awarded Saipem a contract to lay a 44-km undersea pipe-in-pipe gas export line connecting Rhum field to Bruce platform in the North Sea. Pipelaying operations will be conducted during second quarter 2005. – Saipiem also signed a contract with the Azerbaijan International Operating Co.
